Polygon Morphing and Its Application in Orebody Modeling

چکیده
Three different polygon morphing methods are examined. The first one is based on the utilization of the trimmed skeleton of the symmetric difference of the source and target polygons as an intermediate polygon. The second one reduces the problem to the problem of morphing compatible planar triangulations and utilizes the representation of planar triangulations as a matrix constructed using barycentric coordinates of the planar triangulation’s vertices relative to their neighbors. The third and last one describes the polygon by the parametric curve representation based on estimated Fourier parameters and thus transfers the morphing process to Fourier parametric space. The different features and comparative results of these methods are shown by the tests with different examples. Thesemethods are used for generating a set of polygonal sections from two nonplanar polygonal sections which are nearly planar in 3D before constructing a threedimensional object from these nonplanar sections.

Design and Implementation of Non-layered 3-Dimensional Orebody Modeling System
Because of diversity, complexity and poor information about non-layered orebody, it is difficult to be accurately described by regular geometry model. Mining engineers couldn’t accurately estimate the space distribution law of orebody's grade, quality and the total reserve according to the traditional 2-dementional (2D)graphics. So it is necessary to accurately establish non-layered orebody mod...
متن کاملPareto Optimization of Two-element Wing Models with Morphing Flap Using Computational Fluid Dynamics, Grouped Method of Data handling Artificial Neural Networks and Genetic Algorithms
A multi-objective optimization (MOO) of two-element wing models with morphing flap by using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques, artificial neural networks (ANN), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithms (NSGA II), is performed in this paper. At first, the domain is solved numerically in various two-element wing models with morphing flap using CFD techniques and lift (L) and drag ...
متن کامل3D Metamorphosis Between Different Types of Geometric Models
We present a powerful morphing technique based on level set methods, that can be combined with a variety of scan conversion/model processing techniques. Bringing these techniques together creates a general morphing approach that allows a user to morph a number of geometric model types in a single animation. We have developed techniques for converting several types of geometric models (polygonal...
متن کاملPolygon Morphing Using a M ultiresolution Representation
We present an algorithm for morphing between two simple polygons . The two polygons are converted to mul tiresolu tion representations. Intermediate representations are generated from these two, from which intermediate polygons are reconstructed. Our algorit.hm is simpler than the few existing polygon morphing schemes, and its results compare favorably. The key to the success of our algorithm i...
متن کاملAn Effective Framework for Cloud Modeling, Rendering, and Morphing
In many multimedia applications such as computer games, flight simulation, and special effects for movies, clouds play an important role. In this paper, we present a variety of techniques for cloud modeling, cloud rendering, and cloud morphing in order to make the visual appearance of clouds in these applications more effective and interesting. For cloud modeling, we propose a polygon sampling ...
